In 1995, The Stitch Company was founded as a family business. At the time of writing, we have been in business for 30 years!
On my 21st birthday, I, Janneke Bauman-Timmers, received a suitcase from my parents. Here you go, you are starting your own business. My mother, Marjo Timmers, had a craft and lace workshop in Tilburg and imported many products from America. My father, Maarten Timmers, had his own accounting firm and did the administrative side. My husband, John Bauman, has been involved in all activities from the beginning, but also has his own activities. He now runs his own business and I run mine, but at the same time we do everything with and for each other.
For the first 25 years, I ran the business together with my parents. In 2020, they retired and I run the business alone, but of course with the indispensable help of John.
I'm 51 now, and John and I have been happily married for 27 wonderful years. We have two amazing children, and just recently, we became proud grandparents to our beautiful grandson, Jesse!
Over the years, TSC has grown into an international wholesale company with a very extensive range of cross stitch and diamond painting products. This is also thanks to my parents of course.
But all this would not have been possible without the many loyal customers of the past 30 years. Some customers have been with us since the very beginning. But over the years I have also seen many shopkeepers retire. Fortunately, there is also a new/younger generation who know where to find us again. We hope to continue this for many years to come and to remain your specialist in needlework.
